Purnniema is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and choreographer and has gone through several years of intense training in Kalashetra style, under the expert guidance of her eminent gurus. She holds the masters degree in Bharatnatyam.
 
Today she runs her own institute by the name of “Atulya Nritya” specializing in imparting teachings in the Bharatnatyam danceform. At Atulya Nritya she also give numerous opportunities for the students to perform on stage and various other national and international events. “Atulya Nritya” has branches in Gurgaon, India and San Jose, USA.
 
Her students, have won awards in numerous international dance and drama competitions and festivals like World Cultural Festival, Bal Kala Utsava, Cultural Exchange program with Australia and Dances of India.

Her students are looked at with high esteem in their individual schools and frequently perform and at various functions and local events organized by these institutes.

 

Purnniema herself is an accomplished dancer with many performances to her credit. She performs for various cultural social organizations and dance festivals. 

 

Some of the main ballets she has produced and performed include Anandam, Madhuram, Parityag, Pratyasha, ‘Jai Shri Amarnath’, ‘Krishan Leela’, ‘Mahishasur Mardini’, “Jai Maa Vaishnavi” and “Brij Utsava”. These performances have covered various aspects of religion and social issues such as terrorism, corruption, dowry, sati and more. In her creations as a choreographer, Purnniema loves to weave together the navrasas of life like love, joy, sorrow, anger on the stage.

 

Purnniema has been honored at various cultural events by eminent personalities of cultural fraternity and has recently been awarded the ‘Kala Ratna Award’ by MID.
